Mythologies, and the mythical characters, were brought into the light, through the incredible literary works of authors such as Amish Tripathi, Anand Neelakantan, in the time when many were engrossed in works comprising contemporary stuff. The Resurrection of Evil by Neelabh Pratap Singh is one such, usual crime thriller, it seems initially, that later unfolds unusual mythological links that devastate the crime scene.

Artefacts found and acquired from Uttarakhand by the Archaeological Survey of India is been kept in the National Museum of New Delhi. Out of all, one artefact, a Cauldron, gets stolen.

This triggers a crime scene bringing ACP Aryan from Mumbai crime branch into the picture. ACP Aryan is a hard, witty, sensuous man. The responsibility to resolve the case comes in his way, and he arrives in New Delhi to initiate the resolution of matter.

ACP Aryan considers the case on a petty grounds, thinking it’s just a minor robbery case. But, tragically, it turns out an eerie as the thief who stole the artefact is being murdered. Further investigation results in finding hints of Irish writings believed to have an origin in Irish mythologies.

A stolen artefact, a thief being murdered, and a linking to an Irish mythology, everything doesn’t make any sense to ACP Aryan. Thus he asks Dr. Vats of ASI a help in solving the case.

The severity of conundrums and an unexpected turn of events exposes the forceful chasers of Cauldron. They are none but Asuras, Nagas and Danavas, archenemies of the Indian mythologies that turns real for getting their hands on the Cauldron.

What is so unique about the Cauldron? Who are these mythological characters and why they need the Cauldron? Answers to all these and many others arose during the investigation forms the heart of the story. The story reaches a resolved conclusions in the final pages of the book.

Final Word!

The Resurrection of Evil by Neelabh Pratap Singh has a phenomenal plot that doesn’t lose its way while reading. All in all, a gripping crime thriller that well knits the modern world and the mythological world.
